FCA CONSUMER DUTY AND THE FINANCIAL LIVES SURVEY

Financial Lives is the FCA’s flagship survey of consumers, providing unique insights into the attitudes and behaviours towards financial services and providers of financial services in the UK. The research tracks performance metrics of financial services firms under the FCA’s new rules under which firms need to deliver services to consumers, the Consumer Duty. Since 2017, Critical is incredibly proud to have helped the FCA with this large-scale nationally representative research, and now consider ourselves to be experts in consumer outcome-based financial services research. If you would like to know more about how your firm can use research to measure your effectiveness under the Duty, or for more general information about financial services research, please contact James Hopkins.

HOW IS IT USED?

The FCA is consumer-focused and uses the results to establish the experiences people have when engaging with financial services firms. It helps identify harm and improve consumer outcomes. The data also provides valuable insights for the financial services industry, the Government, other regulators, policymakers, consumer bodies and academics.
