HELPING FCA SPEED UP CONSUMER CREDIT AUTHORISATIONS

To remind and encourage firms to authorise consumer credit and to understand the extent to which the new regime was influencing some firms to put off authorisation.

To deep-dive into some consumer credit segments to establish the nature of the business, we conducted over 21,500 telephone interviews. This enabled us to adapt changes to our questionnaires.

HOW IS IT USED?

Chaser calls were used to remind firms to authorise.
FCA deployed resources to newly targeted types of firms.

RESULTS

Success in moving the bulk of applications to the early stage.
Firms largely became authorised.
